Breaking the Ice, Building a Stronger Community
April 14-15, 2025
JW Marriott ICE District, Edmonton
The 2025 Utility Safety Conference offers an opportunity for damage prevention and safety professionals to learn about the newest information, innovation, technology, and experiences contributing to safe work practices.
The event includes concurrent educational sessions, training opportunities, committee meetings, a tradeshow, and networking events. We estimate over 200 stakeholders will attend, including contractors, machine operators, facility operators, training providers, line locators, regulators, safety representatives, equipment suppliers, and more.

April 14, 2025 – Ground Disturbance 101, Ground Disturbance 201, and Locating 101 training classes will be offered at a reduced rate by our partners in the USP Training Standards Committee. Attendees that complete the courses will receive industry-recognized certificates of completion. Training will be followed by the Opening Reception with our tradeshow exhibitors, then an Awards Dinner and social event where USP’s 2024 Excavator of the Year, Locator of the Year, and Member of the Year will be recognized.

April 15, 2025 – Day two includes USP’s AGM, concurrent educational sessions about the newest information, innovation, technology and experiences from industry experts, committee meetings open to all attendees, a plenary address, and dedicated tradeshow time with industry suppliers where attendees can learn about the newest products and services.
Plenary speaker – Big Daddy Tazz
Often described as one of the most talented comics in the business, Big Daddy Tazz has been delighting crowds at corporate events, fund raisers, festivals and on television for more than 30 years. For the last 20 years Tazz has brought forth light and laughter for those living with mental Illness, by raising awareness on how stigma affects us all. Tazz believes in educating, embracing, and empowering everyone so that we can all stand tall and give stigma a bad name. In 2023, Tazz received the John Candy Award for his work in the fields of comedy and mental health.
Call for Papers
Are you a leader in Safety? We want to learn more! Share your company’s innovation, research, technology or experience during an educational session. Educational sessions are 45 minutes long and should relate to safety or damage prevention in your industry.
Submissions are open until December 31, 2024.

Conference registration before January 17, 2025: $400
Conference registration after January 17, 2025: $450
Endorsed training courses are offered in conjunction with the conference and require separate registration.
